Homeless Ministry

God has called us to love and serve our neighbors in downtown Fullerton who are struggling with homelessness. If you have a heart for serving our homeless neighbors, we invite you to participate in our Laundry-Shower Ministry. You don’t have to be part of our church, and you don’t even have to be a follower of Jesus.

What is the Laundry Shower Ministry?

Some of our guests affectionately refer to it as “Suds & Grub.” The aim of this ministry is to develop ongoing relationships with our homeless neighbors, showing them the love of Christ, human dignity, and friendship. We engage in conversations with our guests and provide them with a full lunch, showers, laundromat services, donated items, and resource referrals. This ministry is offered on the first and third Saturday of each month, from 1:00 to 4:00pm in the parking lot of Fullerton First United Methodist Church (just outside of The Vine’s east exit). If you have questions or interest in getting involved, please contact Marsha Grim. We joyfully partner with several other local churches in this vital ministry.

Jesus in the Streets

As a way of caring for our guests’ spiritual needs in addition to their physical needs, we created a devotional designed specifically for our friends living on the streets, called “Jesus In The Streets.”

If you’d like to print copies of JITS to distribute in your context, we invite you to download one of the following files, so long as you don’t make changes to the devotional, and so long as you distribute it freely.

If you would like to support the work of the Laundry-Shower Ministry financially, you can make out a check to The Vine Church OC, and write Homeless Ministry in the memo line. Mail to: The Vine Church, P.O. Box 261, Fullerton, CA 92836. All donations are tax-deductible.
