Prayer is at the heart of who we are and all that we do.
Jesus prioritized time in prayer with his Father. This was the source of his power, teaching, confidence and vision. He called the church to prayer before his ascension, and prayer was one of the defining features of the early church (Acts 2:42-47).
Paul likewise called the church to worship and prayer and saw it as the foundation of his ministry (See Ephesians 6:18-20, Colossians 4:2, and 1 Timothy 2:1).
As we look through church history, we see that the church was at its best, and God his most glorious, when his people sought him in humble, desperate, passionate prayer.
We seek to catalyze this hunger again in our congregation and our city.
All are welcome to join us for the following key initiatives:
Morning Prayer: To help cultivate a rhythm of prayer in our lives, we offer a Morning Prayer service on Sundays at 9:15am in our Community Room at The Vine, as an optional prelude to our worship service. This is a traditional form of prayer, tracing back to the early church. We use a liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, as the wisdom of the generations who have gone before us helps teach us how to pray.
Monthly Prayer Meeting: On the first Sunday of each month, we meet at 12:45pm at The Vine to pray for spiritual breakthrough in our city and region. This prayer meeting includes space to listen to God and to respond with spontaneous intercession. You’re welcome to come and see what it’s like, without pressure to pray out loud yourself.
Prayer Training: Periodically, we offer trainings to equip the body of Christ to grow as people of prayer. Check our calendar page for upcoming opportunities.
Healing Prayer: We offer prayer for healing (and any other need) at our 10am worship service on Sundays. We also offer periodic Healing Prayer Services for the entire community. All are welcome to attend. Visit our calendar page to see when the next healing service will be.
